John Clarke is Registered Kinesiologist and Project Leader for the Clinical Evaluation Research Unit (CERU) at Kingston General Hospital, Kingston, Ontario Canada. He received his Masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen’s University. John has 10 years of research on both academic and industry sponsored trials. He is currently the Project Leader on 2 trials: 1) The NEXIS Trial, a multi-center, randomized controlled trial of combined cycle ergometry and Amino Acids in mechanically ventilated, critically ill patients. 2) The IMPACT Trial, a multi-center, randomized controlled trials looking to improve the outcomes of critically ill older patients and the health outcomes of their families by capacitating and partnering with families in optimizing patient/family centered care. He also lends his expertise in physical outcomes to support other trials within CERU.
